Spain re-opened to tourists from the US on June 7th, 2021

After being closed for a year to Americans, this is a rare opportunity to experience the country renewed and refreshed.

Entry Requirements

Can American tourists enter Spain? Yes

Can Canadian tourists enter Spain? Yes

Unvaccinated travelers from the USA and Canada may enter Spain. A negative PCR or Antigen test certificate* is required.

Fully vaccinated (2 doses of Pfizer, Moderna or Astra-Zeneca, 1 dose of J&J) travelers from the USA and Canada may enter Spain. A negative PCR or Antigen test certificate* is required.

Travelers from the USA and Canada who have received a Covid-19 booster may enter Spain. There is no test requirement for travelers who have had a booster shot.

* Testing rules

Negative PCR test results are valid for 72 Hours from the time the test was taken. Negative Antigen test results are valid for 48 Hours from the time the test was taken

Passenger Locator Form

All passengers are required to fill in a Passenger Locator Form before arrival.

PCR or Antigen Testing for Returning Home

If you need to get tested for your journey home, whether it is required by the airline or for re-entry into the U.S. we will help you schedule that at the most convenient location possible, at the appropriate time. For re-entry to the US you need to have a negative result from a Covid-19 viral test taken no more than one day before your arrival. Since May 12 2021, the CDC have approved Antigen tests for travel. Antigen tests are quicker (results in 30 minutes, not 24 hours) and cheaper (around 1/3 the price or less) than PCR tests and often more readily available. If you are flying direct back to the US, the only test you’ll need is an Antigen test. If you are transferring in another country on the way back to the US other requirements may apply. We advise to check with the airline in this case.

Spain is also open to vaccinated Canadians

If you are fully vaccinated at least two weeks prior to arriving to Spain, with any of the vaccines approved for use in Canada, then you can enter Spain as a tourist.
