Prague has a couple of big concert venues and this year whilst the city isn’t graced with the presence of megastars like Madonna and R.E.M. there are still a few gigs you might want to catch if your schedule coincides. For each we’ve linked out to where you can buy tickets online.

23rd May 2010 KISS @ O2 Arena
2nd June 2010 Cypress Hill @ O2 Arena
8th June 2010 Slash @ Tesla Arena
10th June 2010 Elton John & his band @ O2 Arena
11th June 2010 Bob Dylan @ O2 Arena
21st June 2010 Massive Attack @ Tesla Arena
27th June 2010 Billy Idol @ SaSaZu
29th June 2010 Green Day @ Výstaviště Incheba Expo Praha
1 July 2010 Aerosmith @ O2 Arena

That’s it for now, the second half of the summer is dominated by outdoor festivals featuring a mixture of foreign and local bands, usually at venues in the countryside. Look out for a future post covering a selection of those. If you’re headed to the city for one of these gigs and you need a place to stay, we have a great selection of hotels and apartments in Prague, and plenty of excursions and day trips for you to choose from, for the rest of your time here.
hi every body
pls can you tell me what the Upcoming Concerts in Prague, in august becus i vest prague in this month and many thanks for y help
best regards
Hi Nagy, August is a quiet month for concerts in Prague, most of the big names are before or after this traditional Czech summer break. Instead most of the attention is on the big music festivals, usually up to 50km from Prague:
5th-7th August – SazavaFest http://www.sazavafest.cz/ Headlining: Papa Roach, Leningrad Cowboys, Chumbawumba, Dog Eat Dog and a number of Czech bands
12th-14th August – Open Air Festival http://www.openairfestival.cz/ Headlining: Kasabian, Faithless
If you’re unable to make it out of the city, check the listings at http://www.ticketpro.cz/jnp/en/home/index.html and http://web.ticketstream.cz/
Well, it’s at the end of summer but there is Sting Symphonicity Tour on Sept. 22nd in Prague.
Btw Sazavafest was great this year 🙂
Thanks for pointing that out Jan.
