Maša Lopičic

Trip Planner
Born and raised in Belgrade, Serbia, Maša has traveled all around Central and Eastern Europe, visiting most of our destinations. She also lived in Hungary in her teens, and later on in Bulgaria, where she studied Journalism, Mass Communication and English at the American University. Maša lived in the USA for a while as well, and traveled a few times to Asia, getting to know cultures and lifestyles outside of Europe. Her professional experience in communications and project and event management, combined with her passion for travel and exploring, come in handy when she's designing your trip from start to finish. Based in Belgrade, her local expertise is also an advantage if Serbia is a place you'd like to visit.

What is your idea of a perfect vacation?

Going to a place that has everything I want: sunshine, sea, culture, great food, rich history. I love short city breaks and weekend getaways as well. I love going anywhere to disconnect without gadgets and crowds. It’s great to be somewhere where life is still peaceful and simple, and you can empty yourself and lose yourself in that book you've always wanted to read.

What's the best place you've ever visited and why?

There are so many. It's very hard to decide. I would have to say that one of the most interesting places I've visited was Bali, where I spent my honeymoon. It was definitely a unique trip to a place that was nothing like home. The most memorable experience was a day trip to Mount Batur, which is an active volcano with a lake beneath it. These landscapes were magical and they really took my breath away. I never thought I'd be able to travel that far in my life. Standing there I really felt happy and thankful that I had witnessed something majestic.

What was the most exotic dining or cultural experience you've had when traveling?

Having a traditional Balinese lunch at a tiny local food stand in the village where our guide was born. It was the strangest tasting meal I've ever had, but by far the most authentic!
