A Baroque Gem Gleaming in the Sicilian Sunshine
Strolling along Noto's central walkway, Corso Vittorio Emanuele, you could be forgiven for thinking you're in an elaborate film set. Lined with elegant baroque palazzos and churches, this is undoubtedly the town's crowning glory. Located between coastal Siracusa and inland Ragusa and an hour or so from both, Noto is either a wonderful day trip destination or a well-placed base to explore these other UNESCO-listed "Late Baroque Towns of the Val di Noto". It's more subtle and hidden than both, but for this reason, comes across as more authentic.
Route for Noto tour
Noto's location and south-facing upper town lends itself to a daily show (as long as the sun is shining, and it usually does in this part of Sicily) late in the afternoon as the buildings take on a warm red-golden glow. Be sure to plan your days to see this phenomenon at least once!

Things to do in Noto

The town of Noto itself can be explored on foot, either on your own, or with a private guide to get the best grasp of the historic events that shaped it. Noto truly shines as a base to explore the Val di Noto, and we can arrange a variety of tours with a private driver and guide, or if you're self-driving, we can arrange walking tours in many of the other UNESCO-towns in the region.
