A hedonist's paradise, our Island Delight itinerary is designed for everyone interested in enjoying the beauty of the easy-going Mediterranean lifestyle. Croatia is known for having more than a thousand islands. Some are small and non-inhabited, while others are oases of nature, simplicity, and strong cultural backgrounds slowly shaped over centuries. Each island tells its own story and each community is specific. This time we invite you to explore the beauty of Vis, Hvar, Brac, Korcula, and Mljet islands at the same time having the opportunity to visit the two most interesting towns in the Dalmatia region, the bustling second-city Split and historical Dubrovnik. The best of the Adriatic, including a variety of seaside and land activities, is our invitation to embark upon your next Croatia journey. Due to both the weather and availability of ferry connections to the islands we recommend starting this itinerary from mid-June to mid-September.
The services that we include as a part of our comprehensive travel package include small and where possible a boutique accommodation, diverse city and island tours, all spiced up with attractive seaside activities. Transport between destinations is a combination of the public ferry/catamaran connection between distanced destinations and a private boat transfers on shorter relations. All public ferry tickets will be secured and delivered by JayWay local staff so that you could easily enjoy your hassle-free vacation.
In addition to the tours included we can arrange a number of excursions based on your own interests. All of our tours are custom, and this is just a sample meant to give an idea of what our trips are like, and the opportunities our destinations provide.
One of our team members in the region will be available to you leading up to and during your trip to answer any questions and arrange local services. You will receive access to your Guest Page, with its information on the best these destinations have to offer, including things to see and do, and other inside tips from restaurant recommendations to tipping advice. Upon arrival, we will provide you with a local cell phone that you can use to reach your local JayWay contact (who you will meet in person) throughout your trip. In all of our destinations, we offer a variety of memorable 3-5 star accommodation options, including boutique hotels, charming B&Bs, and spacious apartments. With our first-hand experience, we can ensure they are all clean, comfortable, and centrally located, with local ambience.
1 Night in Split
1 Night in Split

1 Night in Split
The Roman Emperor Diocletian made Split his home in the 4th Century AD, building a vast palace complex on the waterfront that stands to this day. In fact several of the accommodation options we offer in Split are nestled inside its ancient walls. These days there is an embankment in front of Diocletian's palace but the water used to go right up to the main wall. It's on this man-made strip of land that you'll find the Riva, a pedestrian promenade bustling with life. Split's UNESCO listed Old Town is contained within these old walls and is a pedestrian-only maze that it is quite easy, but fun, to get lost in. Who know what romantic hidden cafés you might find in one of the narrow streets and alleyways? To get the best out of your time in Split, however, we recommend taking a tour with a local guide. Split is very well connected for flights, with an international airport a half hour drive away and is a popular stopping point for our guests on their way between Dubrovnik and the islands of Hvar, Vis, or Korcula, all easily reached by a ferry from Split's port. If you base yourself in Split for a few days, you will find it is also perfect located for visits to some of Croatia's most stunning national parks.

Day 1
Day 1 - Arrival in Split
When you arrive, we'll arrange for a driver to greet you and take you to your centrally located Split accommodation.
The Right Place for Ancient Times
The best way to get to start out in Split is to spend time on the former grounds of Diocletian's Palace. Visit Peristil, the palace's main square, sit on its ancient stairs and just enjoy the remarkable view. Or take a seat at a cafe on the square to order a glass of local wine and take it easy.

Day 2
Day 2 - Traveling to Vis by Ferry

Explore Diocletian's Palace with an Expert Guide
Today you’ll explore the inspiring city of Split with a local guide. You’ll be picked up at your accommodation and led through the UNESCO-listed 1,700-year-old Diocletian’s palace, which is just the beginning of the tour. You’ll also see the Cathedral of Saint Duje, one of the most beautiful cultural wonders on the Adriatic coast. And you’ll explore the ancient cellars as well as the square in the center of the palace. The stunning Roman temples will awaken the spirit of another time for you, as will the famous Golden Gate and the big statue of Grgur Ninski. This is the best way to get to know the incredible history of this ancient city center.
The fascinating island of Vis is next on your itinerary. The ferry port is within walking distance of your Split accommodation and we'll provide tickets on the ferry of your choice. We will arrange for assistance with your luggage from your accommodation to the port.

You'll be rewarded by the most stunning view of the Mljet coastline. After a long day of adventure, we suggest a nice refreshing swim. Unlike most National Parks, Mljet allows swimming. Day 11
Day 11 - Your First Full Day in Mljet
Enjoy a Relaxing Beach Day at Saplunara
The island of Mljet is famous for two things: the National Park and Saplunara beach. One of the very rare sandy beaches in Croatia, Saplunara is a perfect spot to enjoy sunbathing and swimming in the crystal clear sea for a whole day. Located at the Eastern tip of the Island, this natural bay is sheltered from the strong winds and high waves and surrounded by dense pine woods which provide shade. While on the beach, you can enjoy a beverage or a meal at a cafe or a restaurant, but it's a great spot for those in need of some peace and quiet as well. In order to reach it from Pomena, we suggest renting a car or getting a taxi, about an hour ride. Don’t forget to take your camera, as Saplunara and the scenic island road you'll take there are definitely picturesque!
Experience Mljet with Mini Brum Cabriolet
For shorter distances on Mljet we recommend walking and biking, but for longer ones you might want to rent a small car - Mini Brum cabriolets which are very popular on the island. You can find thier office in Polace, close to the National Park entrance. Drive along the island and discover hidden beaches and bays on your own, enjoy untouched nature, crystal clear water and the sound of cicadas.
