3 Nights in Dubrovnik

Dubrovnik offers an unusual blend of modern culture and ancient traditions. Marble-like polished limestone streets, a labyrinth of alleyways, and breathtaking architecture compose the unique atmosphere of the Old Town. You’ll experience a true variety of sightseeing, leisure, and outdoor adventures here. Dubrovnik’s most stunning feature is the 82-foot tall city wall which extends more than a mile. Game of Thrones fans will be in luck, as we offer a special tour to local set locations. King’s Landing never looked so good! There’s a rich selection of live performances for music lovers here, as concerts are performed daily, and in July and August the Dubrovnik Summer Festival of music, theatre and dance brings incredible performers from around the world. The nightlife is also exciting, with restaurants, cafes and bars that will keep you socializing until dawn. You’ll be staying in beautiful accommodation within short walking distance to all the major sites, so you’ll be able to sample a little of everything. But there are also several exciting day trips and cruises to enjoy. From kayaking through hidden coves to an authentic Croatian cooking class, vineyard tours, and trips as far afield as Montenegro, you’ll have more than enough to fill your itinerary.

Day 1

Day 1 - Arrival in Dubrovnik

After your flight arrives in Dubrovnik, we will have someone meet you at the airport and bring you to your accommodations.

Our representative will then meet with you to answer any questions you have and to get you settled for the rest of your trip.

Romantic Dubrovnik

Suggestion to explore on your own

From real romance to outdoor fun, there’s something for every couple in Dubrovnik. We have two favorite places to watch the sunset: the first is Buza Bar, where you’ll have excellent cocktails and snacks and an incredible view as dusk comes on. Restaurant 360° perched at top the city walls might be even more impressive, with unbeatable views of the city and the Adriatic. This restaurant has even been awarded a Michelin star! It’s one of the most incredible panoramas in the entire region.

After Your Tour: City Walls, Cable Car and Lokrum Island

Suggestion to explore on your own

As well as taking a short walking tour of Dubrovnik's old town with a private guide, which will tell you all about the city's history and get you oriented, there are a few other must-dos when in this breathtaking city and all involve getting a different perspective on the magnificent walled Old Town.

Continue your day in Dubrovnik after the tour with a ride on the cable car up Mount Srd' to take in the views. You'll find the bottom station of the cable car by exiting the city through the Buža Gate. Walking the circumference of the ancient city walls themselves is a way to get another view of the town. It's a bit of a climb to the top of the Minceta Tower, but highly recommended.

If you also want to see Dubrovnik from afar, then take a boat trip to Lokrum Island, an oasis of nature and tranquility just ten minutes from the Old Town harbor. This island has peacocks and monastery ruins hidden among its pine, cypress, and olive trees. You will also find a botanical garden here.

Indulge in an enchanted evening of learning about real Dubrovnik and Dalmatian cuisine. Our marketing director, a gourmand, described this as the best meal he's ever eaten in Croatia. Find out why!

One of the best-preserved medieval towns in the Mediterranean, Korcula is instantly recognizable from its red-roofed houses and stunning walled-in Old Town, which juts out into the sea. Two of the biggest attractions are the Cathedral of St. Marco and Marco Polo's original home. One of the greenest islands on the Adriatic, Korcula is poised on the edge of nature on both sides, with rolling hills for hiking and biking behind it, and incredible beaches along the coast. This is the ideal stopover between Dubrovnik and Hvar, and is a pleasant destination for a several-day stay. The island produces some of the region’s finest white wines. Just a brief ferry ride away, the neighboring Peljesac peninsula produces amazing red wines. Mljet, a stunning lake with an island complete with its own monastery, is one of the most impressive day trips from Korcula. You can also take the opportunity to go fishing in the alluring blue waters off the coast, or explore the nearby islands by boat. One of the most unique activities in Korcula is Moreska, an incredible combat dance performance performed by knights with swords. But even if you stay in town, there’s plenty to see. Korcula has a long, varied history going back to the ancient Greeks. The local cultural museums are the best way to get in touch with the past here, even as you enjoy the best Korcula has to offer today.

Crazy about Korcula

Suggestion to explore on your own

Korcula is an idyllic place to get away from it all with the person you love. This incredible little island is quaint, quiet and very peaceful. You can really unwind here as you leave the stresses of city life behind. Since this verdant landscape is full of vineyards, you can take some time to explore Korcula’s wineries together, enjoying the gorgeous natural setting and getting in the vacation spirit as you sample some of the finest vintages Croatia has to offer. You’ll find plenty of fresh seafood and delicious grilled dishes at Korcula’s restaurants, so enjoying a romantic dinner together won’t be a problem. We’d especially recommend Massimo Cocktail Bar for a drink, because here you’ll enjoy some of the island’s best sunsets. It’s the perfect way to share a magic moment. The island is just a little off the beaten path, so it’s a great place to enjoy some private time, just the two of you.

If there’s a place we would recommend visiting from Korcula, it is the island of Mljet. There must be something special about the place, because it was mentioned in one of literature's great epics: The Odyssey. And indeed, Mljet is a charming island like no other. The entire island has an enchanting atmosphere and some unique features like St. Mary's, an island on the large lake in the center of Mljet, with a 12th century church and Benedictine monastery. The Roman Emperor Diocletian made Split his home in the 4th Century AD, building a vast palace complex on the waterfront that stands to this day. In fact several of the accommodation options we offer in Split are nestled inside its ancient walls. These days there is an embankment in front of Diocletian's palace but the water used to go right up to the main wall. It's on this man-made strip of land that you'll find the Riva, a pedestrian promenade bustling with life. Split's UNESCO listed Old Town is contained within these old walls and is a pedestrian-only maze that it is quite easy, but fun, to get lost in. Who know what romantic hidden cafés you might find in one of the narrow streets and alleyways? To get the best out of your time in Split, however, we recommend taking a tour with a local guide. Split is very well connected for flights, with an international airport a half hour drive away and is a popular stopping point for our guests on their way between Dubrovnik and the islands of Hvar, Vis, or Korcula, all easily reached by a ferry from Split's port. If you base yourself in Split for a few days, you will find it is also perfect located for visits to some of Croatia's most stunning national parks.

Suggestion to explore on your own

Split may not have the most romantic name in the world, but is still a lovely city for a romantic holiday, with a perfect mix of vibrant nightlife and fun outdoor activities. The landscape here is incredible, poised just on the edge of the Adriatic. If you come here during the Split Summer Festival, you’ll get to enjoy the absolutely unique atmosphere as you watch theater and opera on Peristil Square but you can enjoy the city at any time of year. Renting bikes is a great way to explore the area together, and Marjan Hill is especially inviting, with views over the city and the sea. This is a wonderful place to stay active together, but you can also just relax and lounge on the beach, or enjoy a dinner at Dvor, one of the city's most romantic restaurants.
