3 Nights in Dubrovnik

Dubrovnik offers an unusual blend of modern culture and ancient traditions. Marble-like polished limestone streets, a labyrinth of alleyways, and breathtaking architecture compose the unique atmosphere of the Old Town. You’ll experience a true variety of sightseeing, leisure, and outdoor adventures here. Dubrovnik’s most stunning feature is the 82-foot tall city wall which extends more than a mile. Game of Thrones fans will be in luck, as we offer a special tour to local set locations. King’s Landing never looked so good! There’s a rich selection of live performances for music lovers here, as concerts are performed daily, and in July and August the Dubrovnik Summer Festival of music, theatre and dance brings incredible performers from around the world. The nightlife is also exciting, with restaurants, cafes and bars that will keep you socializing until dawn. You’ll be staying in beautiful accommodation within short walking distance to all the major sites, so you’ll be able to sample a little of everything. But there are also several exciting day trips and cruises to enjoy. From kayaking through hidden coves to an authentic Croatian cooking class, vineyard tours, and trips as far afield as Montenegro, you’ll have more than enough to fill your itinerary.

Day 1

Day 1 - Arrival in Dubrovnik

After your flight arrives in Dubrovnik, we will have someone meet you at the airport and bring you to your centrally located Dubrovnik accommodation.

Romantic Dubrovnik

Suggestion to explore on your own

Dubrovnik is a one-of-a-kind coastal destination that makes a wonderful place to travel with your sweetheart. From real romance to outdoor fun, there’s something for every couple’s mood here, and the incredible natural surroundings will have you feeling like you’ve stepped into a fairytale. We have two favorite places to watch the sunset: Buza Bar, where you’ll have excellent cocktails and snacks and an incredible view as dusk comes on. The restaurant Restaurant 360° perched atop the city walls might be even more impressive, with unbeatable views of the city and the Adriatic. It’s one of the most incredible panoramas in the entire region. And, since the gastronomy here is so fresh and delicious, why not learn how to make it together at a special cooking class with a local chef. It’s a fun way to bond and have fun as you learn to create fresh seafood and grilled dishes then sit down to feast. Fans of TV’s Game of Thrones will already know Dubrovnik is King’s Landing in the series, so why not go on a Game of Thrones selfie tour, taking a kiss at each of the filming locations. Talk about unique postcards! A boat ride to nearby Lokrum is also very romantic, as you can really get back to nature on this pristine island, and sample some of the local food and wine.

Day 2 - Your First Full Day in Dubrovnik

Get to Know Dubrovnik on a Private City Walking Tour

Please ask your travel advisor for the cost to add this to your package

Dubrovnik is truly a gem of the Adriatic. The city has been on UNESCO’s World Cultural Heritage List since 1979. We recommend taking a private 1.5-hour walking tour of the Old City that will show you the old city including the elegant main street and its most important sites: The Franciscan Monastery, Onofrio’s Fountains, Sponza Palace, Orlando’s Column, City Bell Tower, Church of St Blaise, and Rector’s Palace. It’s an ideal way to get oriented in the city and set yourself up for further exploration. Continue your day in Dubrovnik after the tour with a ride on the cable car up Mount Srd' to take in the views or get another view of the town by walking the ancient walls that surround the city. If you'd prefer to see Dubrovnik from afar then take a boat trip to Lokrum Island, an oasis of nature and tranquility just 10 minutes from the old town harbor.

Explore Outside the City Walls

Suggested activities for an additional cost, depending on your choice

Let’s get the adrenaline pumping today, shall we? A sea kayaking excursion or a buggy adventure are two great activities we highly recommend. The Buggy Safari is an hour-long excursion that lets you drive off road to see wildlife, fortresses, former minefields and war sites. It all culminates in a dramatic 360° view of the entire region from Srd mountain. You’ll be picked up from your hotel and driven to the off-road site, then you’ll enjoy lunch in a local restaurant. If you’d rather explore sea than land, a three-hour sea kayaking excursion is your best choice. You’ll paddle along the walls of Dubrovnik, getting a new view of the city, then go for a swim in one of the secluded coves, where you’ll really become one with nature. Your kayak is equipped with a water-tight barrel so you don't need to worry about your valuables or camera getting wet!

Buggy Safari Adventure Group Tour

Suggested activities for an additional cost, depending on your choice

Here's the ultimate activity for people of all ages. The excursion lasts about one hour and you'll get to drive off-road, see former minefields and sites from the recent war, a fortress and an amazing 360° view of the whole Dubrovnik region. Following this adrenaline-charged expedition, you'll have some free time to explore the Imperial Fortress and the War Museum, or to simply enjoy the stunning views of Dubrovnik from the most gorgeous terrace in Croatia. You'll have a little of everything on this special excursion.

Take a walk on the island of Lopud, with two monasteries, 30 churches and a number of ruined noble buildings. The Best Meal you can have in Dubrovnik

Please ask your travel advisor for the cost to add this to your package

Dubrovnik's got some good (and some unfortunately not-so-good) restaurants but the best meal you can possibly have in town isn't at a restaurant. It's to be had at a local's home, sitting down with a family and a select few other visitors. Just say the word and we'll secure you a spot for a Dalmatian dinner experience without equal, that has been written about in the pages of the Wall Street Journal and National Geographic. You'll enjoy a multi-course dinner with wine, where the main event is a spectacular peka dinner - a traditional style of cooking usually translated as 'under the bell'. Lamb, veal and veg covered slow-cooked with the heat coming from all sides. Our marketing manager described this as the best meal he's ever eaten in Croatia. Find out why for yourself.

One of the best-preserved medieval towns in the Mediterranean, Korcula is instantly recognizable from its red-roofed houses and stunning walled-in Old Town, which juts out on a peninsula into the sea. Two of the biggest attractions are the Cathedral of St. Marco and Marco Polo's original home. One of the greenest islands on the Adriatic, Korcula is poised on the edge of nature on both sides, with rolling hills for hiking and biking behind it, and incredible beaches along the coast. This is the ideal stopover between Dubrovnik and Hvar, and is a pleasant destination for a several-day stay. The island produces some of the region’s finest white wines. Just a brief ferry ride away, the neighboring Peljesac Peninsula produces amazing red wines. Mljet, a stunning lake with an island complete with its own monastery, is one of the most impressive day trips from Korcula. You can also take the opportunity to go fishing in the alluring blue waters off the coast, or explore the nearby islands by boat. One of the most unique activities in Korcula is Moreska, an incredible combat dance performance performed by knights with swords. But even if you stay in town, there’s plenty to see. Korcula has a long, varied history going back to the ancient Greeks. The local cultural museums are the best way to get in touch with the past here, even as you enjoy the best Korcula has to offer today.

Crazy about Korcula

Suggestion to explore on your own

Korcula is an idyllic place to get away from it all with the person you love. This incredible little island is quaint, quiet and very peaceful. You can really unwind here as you leave the stresses of city life behind. Since this verdant landscape is full of vineyards, you can take some time to explore Korcula’s wineries together, enjoying the gorgeous natural setting and getting in the vacation spirit as you sample some of the finest vintages Croatia has to offer. You’ll find plenty of fresh seafood and delicious grilled dishes at Korcula’s restaurants, so enjoying a romantic dinner together won’t be a problem. We’d especially recommend Massimo Cocktail Bar for a drink, because here you’ll enjoy some of the island’s best sunsets. It’s the perfect way to share a magic moment. The island is just a little off the beaten path, so it’s a great place to enjoy some private time, just the two of you.

Beach Day

Suggestion to explore on your own

Today we recommend you enjoy some of the picture-perfect beaches of the region. There are plenty to choose from, but we recommend three in particular: Banje Beach, Badija Island, and Luka Korculanska.

Private Korcula Island Tour

Enjoy a truly local island experience with this private excursion and tour of Korcula. The tour starts from a lookout point over Old Town and the bay. From here you will continue to Pupnat, the oldest village on the island. A pleasant drive will take you through famous vineyards to a wine museum where you'll enjoy some tastings. Your next stop is in the hilltops of Kneze, where you'll have breathtaking views of Korcula and the Peljesac peninsula. Your final stop is the fishing village of Lumbarda where you will visit a vineyard for more excellent local wine.

One of the gems of the Adriatic, Hvar is more than a beautiful coastal town. We’d especially recommend the Adriana Rooftop Bar, where you can enjoy excellent local wines, classic cocktails and delicious cuisine. And, since Hvar is surrounded by lovely countryside, you can also rent bikes and pedal out of the city to explore the fragrant lavender fields and picturesque vineyards, where of course you can sample some of the local vintages. The Roman Emperor Diocletian made Split his home in the 4th Century AD, building a vast palace complex on the waterfront that stands to this day. In fact several of the accommodation options we offer in Split are nestled inside its ancient walls. These days there is an embankment in front of Diocletian's palace but the water used to go right up to the main wall. It's on this man-made strip of land that you'll find the Riva, a pedestrian promenade bustling with life. Split's UNESCO listed Old Town is contained within these old walls and is a pedestrian-only maze that it is quite easy, but fun, to get lost in. Who know what romantic hidden cafés you might find in one of the narrow streets and alleyways? To get the best out of your time in Split, however, we recommend taking a tour with a local guide. Split is very well connected for flights, with an international airport a half hour drive away and is a popular stopping point for our guests on their way between Dubrovnik and the islands of Hvar, Vis, or Korcula, all easily reached by a ferry from Split's port. If you base yourself in Split for a few days, you will find it is also perfect located for visits to some of Croatia's most stunning national parks.

Be Together in Split

Suggestion to explore on your own

Split may not have the most romantic name in the world, but it is a lovely city for a romantic holiday, with a perfect mix of vibrant nightlife and fun outdoor activities. The landscape here is incredible, poised just on the edge of the Adriatic. If you plan ahead to come here during the Split Summer Festival, you’ll get to enjoy the absolutely unique atmosphere as you watch theater and opera on Peristil Square. But you can enjoy the city at any time of year. Renting bikes is a great way to explore the area together, and Marjan Hill is especially inviting, with views over the city and the sea. Speaking of the sea, kayaking at sunset is one of the most romantic outdoor activities imaginable. This is a wonderful place to stay active together, but you can also just relax and lounge on the beach.
