How to Make the Most of your Trip to Moscow
For many western travelers, and especially those from the U.S., Russia remains a destination that's more talked about than visited. That's just one reason JayWay Travel has made Russia one of the more...
A wonderful city, a city of white houses and green roofs, of conical towers, of bulging gilded domes, of churches which look, outside, like bunches of variegated cacti

Moscow has been the capital of Russia for nearly 1,000 years. It's an iconic, global city that has played a central role in the development of Russia and the world. For many, the sight of the Kremlin complex in the center of Moscow is still loaded with symbolism and history. The most interesting tourist attractions are located on the northern bank of the Moskva River, which bends its way through the city.
The Soviet past collides with the capitalist present everywhere in Russia, but nowhere is this contrast more visible than in Moscow, the upbeat, vibrant and sometimes wearisome heart of the country. Vladimir Ilich Lenin’s Mausoleum remains intact, as do many dreary five-story apartment buildings from the era of Nikita Khrushchev’s rule, which lasted from the mid-1950s to the mid-1960s. But glitzy automobiles and Western-style supermarkets, casinos, and nightclubs are equally visible. Many Orthodox churches, as well as some synagogues and mosques, have been restored, while Moscow’s best theaters have reclaimed leadership in the dramatic arts, and traditional markets have been revived and expanded. These markets, which under the Soviets were known as kolkhoz (collective-farm) markets and sold mainly crafts and produce, are now more sophisticated retail establishments.
All the staff at Jay Way were not only extremely knowledgeable and proficient but they were really fun to work with and helped me plan the perfect trip!
They listened, suggested, listened more, answered all my questions and gave me the choices to make the trip my own. I loved the process as well as the trip itself!
"JayWay was excellent in that they kept in touch with us for many months exchanging ideas and making the best plans. We have taken 10 Jayway trips since 2007 so that says enough!! Looking forward to the next one. Health and the Lord willing!"
