Kutaisi is the perfect introduction to the western region of Georgia. It’s the first city you’ll enter after going through the famous Rikoti mountain pass. Great for a stop if you're traveling between Tbilisi and Batumi by road, Kutaisi has just enough to see during a short stay. You can admire ancient monasteries and churches, as well as the famous white bridge connecting both sides of the city. The Gelati Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site overlooking Kutaisi, is a highlight from Georgia’s Golden Age.

You'll notice a much more local feel when visiting Kutaisi than in larger cities like Tbilisi. Yet Kutaisi also has a very well-connected airport, making it something of a travel hub. If you’d like to explore the landscape, there are several natural wonders like caves, canyons and waterfalls nearby. Tourism in Kutaisi is rapidly developing, and many of the buildings are remarkably well preserved. You’ll want to see it before it gets too popular!

"Our experience was truly outstanding--it was a pleasure to plan with your staff, and your creativity and thoughtfulness really resulted in a wonderful trip. We will remember the people you connected us with even more than the terrific locations."
