Kaylea
Travel Advisor
Kaylea was so helpful in the initial planning! She was extremely patient with us (even with multiple changes and our boat load of questions that we had) and was always quick to respond.
David and Maria, New York

After studying languages and spending a transformative semester abroad in college, Kaylea quickly became hooked on international travel. That passion eventually led her to take the leap and move abroad herself. She found her perfect niche in the world of international education and travel - helping others expand their horizons by exploring the globe. Her work took her across nearly 30 countries, from Australia to Europe to South America, and she hasn’t looked back since. Kaylea’s enthusiasm for helping others have meaningful travel experiences made her a natural fit for the JayWay team.

What's your favorite thing about traveling?

The food! I’m a huge foodie and love discovering new dishes and dining experiences that I can’t find at home.

Why do you think it's important to travel?

Travel has opened my eyes to the everyday aspects of how people live around the world - how we move through our cities, what we eat, how we connect, and how cultures shape our daily lives. Of course, seeing stunning places and having fun is a huge part of travel and is also important, but for me, the most powerful gift travel has given me is empathy, and a deeper sense of connection to people and places far beyond my own.

Best advice for travelers to Europe?

Bring comfortable shoes! European cities are incredibly walkable, and you’ll almost certainly end up doing more walking than you expect. Your feet will thank you.

What do you consider to be your best finds from your travels and where was it?

I love bringing home food as souvenirs. One of my most unexpected obsessions is Vegemite from Australia, I actually order it on Amazon now because I miss it so much. Some of my other favorite finds include pistachio cream from Italy, fragrant spices from Istanbul’s Spice Bazaar, and artisanal marmalades (plus plenty of wine) from France.
