Lidija Eterovic

Adriatic Destination Manager & Zagreb City Host
Lidija was terrific. Hands down.
Kenneth, Connecticut
Lidija was born and raised in Split, Croatia. She has traveled extensively, having visited almost every town and island in Croatia and Bosnia as well as spending over a decade in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, where she completed her university studies and is based. With a long family background and extensive personal experience in the tourism industry, Lidija is the ideal person to take care of our guests while they are traveling in the Adriatic region.

Why do you think it's important to travel?

Traveling makes you realize over and over again that everyone in this world is basically the same; we all just want to be happy although the definitions of happiness might differ. This makes it harder to fall for the old "us vs. them" trick, the same one which caused almost all evil in the world. Traveling makes you realize we are all one community, and it makes you a better person who is more understanding, more open, and braver.

Best advice for travelers to Europe?

Don't be afraid to go outside of the city center! Most of the residents don't live in the center and there are always cool places to hang out that aren’t in the center. Also, don't hesitate to start a conversation with people, as most are happy to brag about the country and to meet people from abroad.

Mountains or beaches? Why?

Both. I love the dynamics of the sea and the peace of the mountains.

How do you manage pre-trip stress and/or unexpected situations during your travels?

Unexpected situations happen, but I try to be aware of where I'm going, to do my research and go prepared. There is always a solution to any situation, and the worst thing is to go into panic mode. Stop, sit down, think for a moment. Most things can be resolved one way or another.
