Route for Costa Smeralda tour
Local and international celebrities flock here to “see-and-be-seen” and for world-class sailing competitions in summer, especially along La Maddalena archipelago and towards nearby Corsica.  The area also offers many authentic experiences: mountain villages renowned for artisanal creations, lively folklore traditions, and seriously tasty cuisine, best tried in a family-run winery or even during a hike with local shepherds.

Frequently Asked Questions about travel to Costa Smeralda

How long should I stay in Costa Smeralda?

We suggest spending at least three nights in Costa Smeralda, in order to being able to enjoy the pleasant seaside vibe of the villages, the quality features of the hotels and its rugged coastline. We definitely recommend taking a whole-day boat or road trip to La Maddalena Archipelago. Consider adding a fourth night to make room for a day trip inland, in case you do not stay in “Inland Sardinia” destination.

What are the prices like in Costa Smeralda?

A quick lunch with a drink in the center, is around 35-40 euros. Museums and landmarks generally cost 10-20 euros. For a full dinner, budget at least 50-60 euros.

How can I get around in Costa Smeralda?

Porto Cervo’s compact center is easily explored by foot. If you're staying in another town, or would like to explore other areas along the coast, we recommend taking a private transfer or renting a car for a day trip. There are also taxis of course, whose prices depend on both distance and the time of day and are generally quite high due to the exclusivity and popularity of the area. You might calculate around 30 Euro for a 10-minutes drive.

Is Costa Smeralda safe?

As the rest of Italy, adopting the usual care (leave valuables and passports at the hotel). We always recommend leaving someone taking a look at bags / valuables on the beach while the other is taking a swim.

What are Costa Smeralda options for dietary restrictions?

Mediterranean diet is quiet diversified, we are sure you will find vegetarian and vegan options in almost all the restaurants. If you have particular needs please inform your waitress when you arrive and they will suggest the best dishes you can order and take care of any allergy or restrictions you might have.A recommended place for vegetarian and vegan options is Ristorante Pizzeria La Rocca da Chiara.
