"A Second Eden."

Bled's beginnings go back more than 1,000 years. This small town rich in history has plenty to offer visitors. Just a short drive from Ljubljana, Lake Bled is an ideal day trip. But it's also worth spending more time here. The surrounding mountains reflect on the emerald lake below. A large medieval castle forms the town's backdrop. Lake Bled's highlight is Slovenia's only natural island. Set in the middle of the pristine lake, the island houses a 15th century baroque church. It's one of Slovenia's most popular tourist attractions. But the castle and island are only two reasons to visit Lake Bled.

Seeing Lake Bled is one of our favorite things to do in Slovenia. The area is ideal for swimming, rowing, kayaking, and rafting. You could also go hiking, enjoy a round of golf, or go fishing at Lake Bled. As a glacial lake, Bled is known for its mild climate and soothing thermal waters. While visiting Lake Bled, a short trip to Bohinj and the largest natural lake in Slovenia shouldn't be missed. Bohinj is less touristy and its surroundings are pristine. If you have time, Kranjska Gora and the Julian Alps are an easy trip. For those with a sweet tooth, Bled's famous Kremsnita pastry will also be sure to satisfy.

What we love about Bled

Ivana

Dubrovnik City Host & Adriatic Destination Expert

Talking about fairy-tale places, this is really one of those. Don't know if I like it better in spring when everything is green and blooming or in the winter when it is covered in white - it is always magical and charming to me. I love walking around the lake, taking a boat, and just enjoying the peace and tranquility Bled has to offer.

Picture-perfect Bled is all that. No trip to Slovenia should be planned without visiting this magnificent place. Serene and green, beautiful and romantic, it will reward you with the nicest memories. I dare you to come and experience it.

Enchantingly beautiful, a lake Bled will leave you speechless. There is so much serenity in this place and the scenery is unreal. I visited Bled only once, but the images are engraved into my memory for a lifetime. I would like to come back again to enjoy the long walks by the lake or just read some books from the hotel terrace.

I was SO thankful for JayWay Travel throughout our three weeks in Slovenia and Croatia, especially since I was alone with my four children for most of it. I could never have managed the planning of so many accommodations, reservations, excursions and rentals, and I would have stressed myself out to no end doing the research and making the decisions. Additionally, the value of the local contact person is immeasurable...she was truly a God-send! I have recommended JayWay to so many friends who followed our travels online, and one has already called...I'll be using you again for sure. Thank you, Nico and Ivana, for helping us have the trip of a lifetime! Hopefully not our last!!
